NSB’s EVP Launches "Craig's Common Cents"
LAS VEGAS – Craig Kirkland, EVP/Retail Banking Director for Nevada State Bank, has launched a new blog for bank clients and the general public. Called “Craig’s Common Cents,” his blog posts will be available online on NSB’s website blog: https://www.nsbank.com/blog/.
“As part of NSB’s commitment to financial education, I saw a need for a user-friendly online resource that would address issues important to Nevada consumers and small business owners,” Kirkland shared. “Heading up the bank’s network of branches puts me in daily contact with our clients, so I’m acutely aware of their interests and concerns, especially in today’s uncertain economic environment.”
Kirkland’s first blog post, titled “Now May Be a Good Time to Start a Small Business,” explains why the current economy may actually be beneficial for someone who wants to start their own business. Future topics may include building an emergency fund, putting together a financial team, demystifying the SBA loan process, and why cash is still king.
Kirkland has 30 years of experience in banking, including positions as branch manager, regional manager, and division manager He is actively engaged as an executive mentor, along with participating in a number of local volunteer projects. He has served on the board for the Las Vegas Rescue Mission since 2008 and is currently its Secretary/Treasurer. He is also the Chair Elect for the Nevada Banker’s Association Executive board of directors, and also serves on the Henderson Chamber of Commerce board of directors and the Henderson Chamber executive board.
