Nevada State Bank Announces Two Winners of $10,000 ‘Holiday Giving, Holiday Winning Sweepstakes’
LAS VEGAS – Two $10,000 grand prize winners have been named in Nevada State Bank’s $10,000 “Holiday Giving, Holiday Winning Sweepstakes.” The winners are Judie Day from Sparks and Charles Mungo from Las Vegas.
Day, a Northern Nevada native who retired after a career that spanned more than 40 years, wasn’t aware of the sweepstakes until she received a phone call that she’d won $10,000. “I’m so happy about what happened,” she said. “They told me that every time I used my debit card I’d been entered into a drawing. I use my debit card for everything – gas, groceries, and everything. So, I must have been entered a hundred times!”
Day banks at the NSB branch in Sparks. “I love Nevada State Bank,” she said. “The employees are wonderful. If you go in with a problem, they take the time to listen and they’re ready to answer questions. Banking with NSB has been a really, really good experience.”
Mungo, a tattoo artist who works at a shop on Fremont Street in downtown Las Vegas, said winning will be life-changing for him. After surviving severe injuries suffered in a car accident, he had used his savings to pay medical bills. “This money will really cap off my recovery,” he said. “I’m not going to run out and buy a new car or anything. I’m just going to save it. It will give me the confidence that I can deal with whatever happens. I value that more than anything else.”
Mungo banks at the Bridger branch in downtown Las Vegas because it’s close to his apartment and his workplace. “I really like it. I lucked out with this location,” he said. “Everyone there is cool. Some of the people I work with have accounts with big banks and they’re always complaining. I’ve been spreading the word about Nevada State Bank, so I think a lot of them – especially after hearing about this – may jump ship.”
NSB clients were automatically entered into the sweepstakes when they made everyday purchases with their Nevada State Bank debit or credit card from Nov. 6, 2023 to Jan. 7, 2024. Clients received one entry each time they used their card to make a purchase.
