Nevada State Announces Three Winners of $10,000 Visa Sweepstakes
LAS VEGAS – Three $10,000 grand prize winners have been named in Nevada State Bank’s $10,000 VISA Sweepstakes. The winners hail from Las Vegas, Henderson, and Sparks, Nevada, and all were shocked to hear they won the big prize.
The winners are longtime Sparks resident Robert Borncamp, Henderson resident Lori Molina, and Las Vegas resident Michael McGuire.
Borncamp, like the other winners, was surprised that he won, but “once I realized it was on the up and up, it felt great,” he said. He said he plans to pay off his car, a Saturn Sky, with the prize money. Borncamp has been an NSB client for 10 years. “I enjoy the people. The people are just great. I bought my house through Nevada State Bank and I’ve always appreciated the customer service.”
The sweepstakes’ second winner, Molina, said she feels fortunate, blessed and grateful to have won. An NSB client since 2008, she is a loyal client because “I really appreciate the fraud detection with Nevada State Bank. I appreciate that there’s so much oversight. I feel they’ve had a good track record of trying to keep my money safe. I just appreciate them being my bank.”
Molina isn’t quite sure what she’ll use the money for yet, but she plans to consult others for advice and is considering a donation to her favorite charity.
Our third winner and NSB client since about 1998, McGuire was really surprised to hear that he’d won the $10,000 VISA Sweepstakes. In fact, when Branch Manager Haylie Mcewen called him to tell him the good news, he didn’t believe her. “I couldn’t believe it. Luckily, I remembered Haylie’s name. Then after the shock wore off, I felt overwhelmed. I started thinking of what I could do with it and how I could put it to good use.”
Ultimately, McGuire decided he’s giving his family money to help them during this time. He also plans to put a portion in savings. But he did treat himself to a nice dinner the day he found out about his good fortune. McGuire said he banks with NSB because he likes the convenience it provides him. “Everybody there is friendly. It’s close to my house. It’s not a big bank, so I don’t feel like I’m caught up in the big banking problems. I’ve just had no problems. I’ve had no reason to go elsewhere,” he said. “I’m very fortunate to have won.”
NSB clients were automatically entered into the sweepstakes when they made everyday purchases with their Nevada State Bank debit or credit card from Oct. 19, 2020 to Jan. 10, 2021. Clients received one entry each time they used their card to make a purchase.
