Dallas Haun Appointed to Athletic Commission by Governor Lombardo
LAS VEGAS – Nevada State Bank is proud to announce that NSB Chairman Dallas Haun has been appointed to the Nevada Athletic Commission (NAC), effective July 1, by Nevada Governor Joe Lombardo. Haun previously served on the NAC as an appointee of Governor Brian Sandoval, serving from 2018-2020.
The Commission, originally formed in 1941, regulates all contests and exhibitions of unarmed combat, including licensure and supervision of promoters, boxers, mixed martial artists, kick boxers, seconds, ring officials, managers, ring announcers and matchmakers. Haun will serve a three-year term and joins current NAC Chairman Anthony A Marnell III as well as Christopher Ault, Gregory Bortolin, and Alexander Chen.
"I’m excited to continue the long tradition with the fight capital of the world,” shared Haun. “And I will be joining a great team of individuals to help govern this important sporting event in our state.”
Haun, whose banking career spans 40 years, served as NSB chairman, president and CEO from 2007 until 2017, and has remained chairman since that time. Prior to joining NSB, Haun was served as executive vice president for City National, where he was also on the bank's executive committee. In that position, he managed 12 regional centers, handling commercial and private banking throughout California. Mr. Haun began his banking career in Michigan, but soon came west and spent 20 years with Harbor Bank in southern California, eventually serving as president and chief operating officer.
Mr. Haun previously served as a commissioner for the Nevada Commission on Tourism; was a member of the College of Southern Nevada Board of Trustees; and served on the boards of the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce, Three Square and UNLV Foundation. In 2015, Haun was honored by the March of Dimes as the first Nevadan to receive the Lifetime Achievement Award, one of only 200 given by the national organization.
