Nevada State Bank Branches Accepting Donations for DOGust Pet Supplies Drive
LAS VEGAS – Through Aug. 26, Nevada State Bank branches are accepting pet supplies donations to support The Animal Foundation. August is the official birthday month of shelter dogs, and NSB wants to help the community celebrate. Items needed include soft dog treats, cat treats, unopened dry or canned food, peanut butter jars, new toys, new collars, and rabbit supplies. In addition, those looking to make a monetary donation instead can do so online via this link.
“We are excited to celebrate not only shelter dogs, but all shelter pets, during August. Hopefully, we can make their lives a little more enjoyable while at the shelter by providing toys and treats to brighten their day. In addition, pet food collected will go a long way in helping The Animal Foundation’s KEPPT program, which offers pet food assistance to residents in need of temporary help, said Vanessa Teeter, SVP/corporate service manager at Nevada State Bank. “As a bank we strive to help our community in many different ways, and the animals who live here are no exception. Let’s give them a birthday month to remember.”
The Animal Foundation is a nonprofit, 501(c)3 organization founded in 1978 as a low-cost spay and neuter clinic. It is now the highest volume single-site animal shelter in America. Much like a public hospital, as an open-admission shelter, TAF takes in every animal in need that is brought to them, no matter how sick or injured. From the expected dogs, cats, and rabbits, to pigs, chickens, and exotic animals, they serve them all. In June of 2015, TAF unveiled Mission: Possible 2020 to reach ZERO euthanasia of all healthy and treatable animals who enter their care. They met this goal, one of the highest volume animal shelters in the nation to do so. Even though they have made it over this hurdle, their work is never done as they strive to sustain and grow their mission.
