Nevada State Bank Promotes Kyle Berwager to State Credit Administrator and Lauren Sur to Underwriting Manager
LAS VEGAS – Nevada State Bank (NSB) has announced the promotion of Kyle Berwager to Senior Vice President and State Credit Administrator, and Lauren Sur to Vice President and Underwriting Manager. These promotions underscore NSB’s commitment to fostering career development and recognizing exceptional talent among team members.
Kyle Berwager joined NSB in 2015 as a Portfolio Risk Officer and brings over 17 years of underwriting experience. His keen understanding of risk and attention to detail led to his promotion to Underwriting Manager in April 2020 and Senior Vice President in July 2021. As State Credit Administrator, Berwager will leverage his credit and lending review expertise to grow a high-quality loan portfolio and guide the bank’s credit risk management efforts.
“Kyle is a dedicated credit professional, and I am confident his commitment to analyzing and understanding credit risk will further strengthen the bank’s credit function,” said Executive Vice President and Chief Credit Officer Steve Borgna.
Berwager graduated from Pacific Coast Banking School in 2022. He has a master’s in business administration from George Fox University and Credit Risk Certification from the Risk Management Association.
Lauren Sur joined NSB in 2020 as a Corporate Underwriter and has a decade of experience in credit and risk. She was promoted to Vice President and Portfolio Risk Officer in December 2021. In her role as Underwriting Manager, Sur’s strong analytical skills and commitment to fostering collaboration will be invaluable as she leads a team of underwriters and colleagues in NSB’s Banker Development program.
“Lauren has been an invaluable member of the underwriting team since she joined the bank,” said Executive Vice President and Corporate Banking Manager Shannon Petersen. “Her ability to work seamlessly with colleagues from across the bank, while also taking on a mentoring role, will serve her in new position as Underwriting Manager.”
Sur graduated from California State University, Fullerton, holds a master’s in business administration from Pepperdine University’s Graziadio Business School, and is currently pursuing certification from the Pacific Coast Banking School.
