John Larsen is President and Chairman of the Board of Port of Subs, Inc., a sandwich shop franchisor operating across seven Western states. Trained as an accountant, he purchased a small sandwich company in 1976 and grew it into a successful concern with about 145 outlets.

He was selected to head the state delegation to the White House Conference on Small Business in 1995. He is a member of the Nevada Small Business Development Center (NSBDC) advisory board and a former chair of that NSBDC board. Through his board membership, Larsen provides counseling to start-up franchise companies and those looking to expand within Nevada. Port of Subs annually sponsors and provides funding and teaching instruction for a senior management class taught at UNR. Larsen is a graduate of the University of Nevada with a degree in accounting.
