LAS VEGAS - (January 12, 2009óLas Vegas) Nevada State Bank's (NSB) John Vanderploeg has been promoted to senior vice president/region manager for Region 3 in southern Nevada. In addition, NSB recently hired John Zaby to serve as vice president and private banking officer at The Private Bank.
With 18 years of retail banking experience, John Vanderploeg is now in charge of a retail network that includes 26 branches throughout southern Nevada. He has held several management positions at NSB, including branch manager and district manager, and he also has extensive knowledge in sales and service. Most recently, he served as VP/senior real estate operations officer.
"John's years of experience and his ability to relate to colleagues in all departments of the bank make him a valuable addition to the retail leadership team," said Craig Kirkland, EVP/director of retail banking.
A Las Vegas resident for 22 years, Vanderploeg is heavily involved with the Civitan organization, and currently serves as host chair for Civitan's 2009 international convention, which will be held in Las Vegas. He also serves on the Leadership Steering Committee for the North Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce.
John Zaby brings more than 8 years of Nevada banking experience to his position as private banking officer for The Private Bank by Nevada State Bank. This new division of the bank offers a full range of personalized financial services to NSB's top clients. Zaby most recently served as a commercial lender for a local community bank.

Zaby received a bachelor's degree in finance from the University of Utah. After college, he spent several years working as a medical professional in Salt Lake City hospitals before moving to southern Nevada to enter the banking field. His medical experience helps him understand the needs of banking clients in The Private Bank, who include physicians, clinic owners, dentists, and other professionals.
A dedicated father, he enjoys coaching youth sports with the National Youth Sports organization.
